What we do · How we work

A working platform. Not a trade body, not a club.

This market is changing fast, and so are we. CPaaSAA is where telcos, cloud communications platforms and AI companies do business together. Research, rooms and introductions turn the conversation into partnerships, use cases and revenue.

Based in Amsterdam, since 2019. Members and partners worldwide.

Why CPaaSAA exists

The stack is being rebuilt once a generation. This is that generation.

Every few years this industry gets a new channel or a new standard. What is happening now is different. AI is not a feature you bolt onto a platform; it is a reset. The categories that organised the last decade, CPaaS, UCaaS, CCaaS, contact centre, are blurring into one another. Operators are separating the networks they own from the services they sell. The business models that worked in 2020 are under pressure, and the enterprises everyone serves are moving faster than most of their suppliers.

What got this industry here will not get it through what comes next. Navigating that alone is the wrong strategy. That is why CPaaSAA exists, and why it keeps changing with the market. Telcos, platforms, AI builders, contact centre and CRM players, hyperscalers and investors need one place where the people they need to do business with are already in the room.

Intelligence needs trust, and neither gets built by one company alone.

How we work

Three things we do for members, every quarter

Clarity

We separate signal from noise

The shift to Intelligent Engagement is real but uneven. Our ongoing research is the foundation for everything we do: it shows what is actually happening in the market, and what it means commercially. Who buys, who pays, and who captures the value.

Start with the State of Intelligent Engagement

Capability

We get the right people in the room

Curated rooms, CAVE leadership exchanges and the annual CASA summit put operators, platforms and innovators in front of the people they need. The goal is never conversation for its own sake. The goal is decisions, partnerships and deals.

How CAVE works

Scale

We connect innovation with distribution

The ideas exist. The infrastructure exists. The gap is between innovators who move fast and operators and platforms who hold the customers. We close that gap, together with our strategic partners: GSMA and Open Gateway on network APIs, Sandbox on founders, applied innovation and capital, and McKinsey on strategy and research. With our events and channels, that reach goes well beyond our members.

Members and partners

What that looks like in practice

The work, concretely

Research
The foundation: ongoing research, built with the analysts

The annual State of Intelligent Engagement, the AI Voice research and our Network API work. Written with the analysts who cover this market and tested against what members actually see in the field. It is the shared fact base the rest of our work stands on, and we publish it openly, because a rising tide lifts all boats.

Introductions
The right people, in front of each other

Between events we put members in front of the operators, platforms, innovators and investors they need, and we follow up. That is where partnerships, channels and pipeline come from.

CAVE
The senior leadership exchange

A small, private room where the leaders of telcos, platforms and AI companies argue out what happens next, long before it shows up in a roadmap.

CASA
The annual summit, for members by members

Three days in Amsterdam every September. Deliberately limited in size, and the agenda is built from what members are working on, not from a sponsor deck. CASA is where the year’s conversations get decided.

Visibility
Talks, cases and the newsletter

CPaaSAA Talks, podcasts, case studies and our newsletter put members’ work in front of the operators, platforms, analysts and investors who matter to them. Members bring the story; we bring the audience and the editorial hand.

Community
The member community

Everything we produce between events, and the people behind it, in one place: recordings, research, working group material and direct access to peers. Open to everyone at a member company.

Who it is for

Built for the whole Intelligent Engagement ecosystem

That includes, but goes well beyond, traditional CPaaS. If you are building or deploying any of this, you are in the right room. The boundaries between these categories are dissolving, and CPaaSAA is where the people on both sides of them work out what comes next.

Intelligence

Conversations become computable

AI voice and conversational agents, agentic and AI-native workflows, CPaaS and cloud communications platforms, contact centre and CRM-embedded communications. Value moves from carrying the conversation to running it, and to owning what it produces.

Trust

The scarcest asset in an AI economy

Network APIs and programmable telecom capabilities, identity, verification and fraud prevention, sovereign AI, data residency and edge infrastructure. When anyone can generate a voice, proof becomes the product, and operators own the assets it runs on.

Transformation

Nobody does this alone

Enterprise AI deployment at scale, hyperscaler communications services, operators and platforms taking it to market together, and the founders and capital that fund the next wave. The intelligence exists. The networks exist. What is missing is coordinated execution.

Bring your team

Membership is for your company, not for one person

The leader who signs the membership is rarely the one who gets the most out of it. Intelligent Engagement touches product, engineering, commercial, partnerships and marketing at once, and we cater to all of them. A product owner works through AI voice with peers who have shipped it. A wholesale lead argues network API business models with peers from other operators. A marketer learns what the analysts are about to say before they say it. A founder meets the operator who becomes a channel.

So send your team. Everyone at a member company gets access to the community, the research and the recordings, and each of them finds the people they need. That is why the larger members get more out of this than any briefing they could commission. Name a business champion and a marketing contact, and we work with them all year to turn membership into results.

Total football means your side plays as a team too.

How we behave

House rules

An open tent

Telcos and hyperscalers. Platforms and CRM vendors. AI-native startups and incumbents. Analysts and investors. Diversity of players is the point: the rising tide lifts all boats, and the best ideas come from the edges of the industry, not its centre.

Partners, not vendors

Members and partners bring their work, their questions and their people. We bring the research, the rooms and the introductions. Membership and sponsorship pay for the platform; they do not buy an opinion, and our research says what the evidence says.

A clear line on competition

Competitors sit at the same table here, so the line is explicit. Everything we do runs under our antitrust compliance statement and code of conduct; what gets shared is insight, never pricing or customers.

For members, by members

The agenda comes from what members are working on, not from a programme committee. The people who show up and do the work are the ones who shape what we do next.

What members say

The Playbook would have saved me six months building our strategy.

Global Telco Strategy Lead

CPaaSAA helps our teams access industry insights and connect with peers and analysts, driving smarter decisions and faster growth.

Chief Marketing Officer, cloud communications provider

It was great to hear concrete insights from peers, see what’s new in the market, but also what challenges we’re facing as an industry.

Network API go-to-market lead, operator

You tapped into a really interesting mix of people from lots of different companies in our space. A great cross-section.

Chief Revenue Officer, cloud communications provider

The people behind it

A small team, a large network

CPaaSAA is run by a founding team with decades in cloud communications, telco innovation, go-to-market and events. Behind it: three strategic partners, strategy, technology and GTM advisors, and the analysts who cover this market.
