The Cloud Communications Alliance is hosting their 2023 Cloud Connections event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this week, and at the event the CPaaS Acceleration Alliance will organize a CPaaS Showcase where Braidio, BroadSource, Radisys, and Vonage will all present their best CPaaS use cases. The showcase will be judged by a team of experts including Clark Peterson, Chairman of the Cloud Communications Alliance, Kevin Nethercott, Managing Partner of the CPaaS Acceleration Alliance, Evan Kirstel, a leading thought leader, writer, podcaster, and influencer, Michael Tessler, Managing Partner at True North Advisory and Jordan Rupar, Managing Director at Q Advisors.

Telecom Reseller did a series of 7 podcasts with the participants and judges, discussing the evolution of the Cloud Communications industry and the crucial role that CPaaS is starting to play for providers and enterprises alike. Let’s take a look at the 5 judges here.

Clark Peterson & Kevin Nethercott

In the first podcast in the series, Peterson and Nethercott discussed the importance of CPaaS technology and how it is set to revolutionize the way people communicate by voice, by video, and more. “CPaaS bypasses the traditional phone networks and legacy elements and allows people to communicate from the platform where they already are,” says Peterson.

“It’s really about the customer engagement and the customer engagement that CPaaS enables.”

“I’m looking for solutions that are really useable, the showcase will aim to take the abstract into the practical.”

Evan Kirstel

In the second podcast, Kirstel joins Nethercott to discuss what the judges will be looking for in the CPaaS Showcase. Kirstel notes that the judges are looking for real-world applications of CPaaS and how it can deliver breakthrough solutions similar to those that AI is beginning to deliver across the technology field.

“I think what you’re looking to do is to empower innovators and developers to build things we don’t have yet.”

Kirstel notes how apps such as Uber brings together several different technologies such as location, payment, SMS and much more into a seamless customer experience. WebRTC began as a novel idea, while now it has become “baked-in”, a path we might see with CPaaS.

Michael Tessler

In the third podcast, Tessler speaks about the opportunity to bring CX extensions to the UCaaS side of the house and how he will be looking for solutions that help CSPs help their business clients deliver innovative CX to their customers. Tessler notes that with the rise of digital transformation and the increasing demand for CX, CSPs are looking for ways to differentiate themselves from the competition and CPaaS solutions offer the potential to do just that.

“CPaaS is a key piece of the puzzle in terms of delivering the type of CX that businesses are looking for.”

Jordan Rupar

In the fourth podcast, Jordan Rupar joins the conversation and discusses the importance of CPaaS in the context of the larger cloud communications market. Rupar will share her insights on the market trends, key players and the future of CPaaS and how it is poised to become an essential part of any communications stack. “CPaaS is a vital part of the cloud communications ecosystem, it enables businesses to add new capabilities and services to their communications platform,” says Rupar.

“What I’d like to see is more customer engagement, maybe more vertically tailored type solutions.”

This showcase is an opportunity for the industry to discover more about CPaaS and how it can be used to improve communication, customer engagement, and deliver breakthrough solutions. With a panel of judges who have a wealth of experience in the industry, the showcase promises to be a valuable event for attendees.
