The communications ecosystem is moving into a more execution-driven phase.
AI, Network APIs, and new engagement models are no longer abstract topics — they are shaping real product decisions, real partnerships, and real go-to-market strategies. As this happens, the way the industry collaborates is maturing too.
CPaaSAA was created just a few years ago in response to a clear need: a place where people across the ecosystem could come together to make sense of rapid change, share insight openly, and move forward without heavy sales pressure or fixed agendas. The strong early support — and the continued engagement of more than 100 organizations since — confirmed that this need was real.
Through constant listening, dialogue, and iteration, the CPaaSAA platform has evolved deliberately, building trust first, then shared understanding, and now a clearer path toward outcomes. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed time, perspective, and energy along the way — that collective commitment is what makes the next phase possible!
Looking ahead to 2026, the objective is clear: to create more leverage for organizations navigating a rapidly changing communications landscape — by concentrating insight, access, and execution in one place.
When Things Start to Come Together
Over the past years, CPaaSAA has built a set of foundations that now clearly reinforce each other. These include flagship moments like
- CASA, our annual event;
- CAVE, a strategy-focused group for deeper, forward-looking dialogue; and
- the State of CPaaS, which has become an important annual research paper for the industry.
Alongside these, CPaaSAA has developed working/interest groups, CPaaSAA Talks, The Inner Circle sessions, and the Case Directory. Each of these has created value around the topics that matter most to our members.
What becomes more apparent heading into 2026 is how these elements increasingly come together — not as isolated initiatives, but as a connected engagement engine that builds momentum over time and makes participation more meaningful.
More Intentional Presence at the Right Moments
Events remain a core part of how CPaaSAA operates — but with greater focus and clarity.
In practice, this means:
- more partnerships with existing industry events, where CPaaSAA contributes through speaking, curation, and content
- clearer opportunities to participate alongside CPaaSAA, including discounts, speaking roles, and curated side gatherings
- a predictable rhythm of smaller, more intimate gatherings — often over dinner or drinks — designed for deeper conversation and connection around key industry moments
The emphasis is on relevance and timing — knowing where CPaaSAA will show up, and how to engage when it matters most. There will now be multiple touch point opportunities each month.
Stronger Alignment Between Events, Talks, and Research
Insight and content are becoming more tightly aligned with what happens on stage and in the community.
CPaaSAA Talks, blogs, and research increasingly build on:
- themes discussed at events
- questions raised in working/interest groups
- real-world challenges shared across the ecosystem
This creates continuity. Ideas introduced in one setting are explored more deeply in another, then reflected back into the wider community. The result is less noise — and more signal.
The Inner Circle and Deeper Strategic Dialogue
The Inner Circle sessions continue as a space for more strategic, forward-looking conversations — supported by CPaaSAA’s research and advisory partners.
In 2026, these sessions are more deliberately connected to:
- ongoing research themes
- emerging industry questions
- longer-term strategic considerations
Rather than isolated discussions, they form part of a broader flow of insight that helps shape what comes next.
A Growing Focus on Practical Use Cases
As the industry moves from exploration to execution, use cases matter more than ever.
The Case Directory plays an increasingly central role by:
- capturing practical examples from across the ecosystem
- grounding discussions in what actually works
- helping ideas move from concept to application
This focus on real-world use cases strengthens everything else — from events and talks to research and collaboration.
Strengthening the Path from Insight to Action
What’s particularly telling is how strongly this direction resonates across the ecosystem itself.
There is a clear appetite to move from discussion to acceleration — especially among those looking to lead and those looking to scale. Some are focused on shaping what comes next for the industry. Others are navigating very practical challenges: go-to-market execution, partnerships, and access to the right kind of support at the right moment.
The idea of working together more deliberately to accelerate innovation reflects conversations that have been happening within CPaaSAA for some time. In that sense, this next step doesn’t introduce something foreign — it builds on momentum that is already there, and on needs that have been voiced consistently across the platform.
This is where the recently announced collaboration with Sandbox fits naturally.
Sandbox brings experience in building and operating innovation platforms across complex industries — including a track record of creating and managing collective investment vehicles designed to support innovation at scale. That background complements CPaaSAA’s ecosystem reach and industry focus, strengthening the ability to support practical experimentation, connect real industry challenges with emerging solutions, and create more structured pathways from insight to application.
The emphasis is not on introducing something new, but on reinforcing what is already forming — adding execution depth and long-term perspective to a platform that is increasingly focused on outcomes.
A Platform Taking Shape
Taken together, these refinements reflect a platform that is increasingly purposeful.
- Conversations connect to content
- Content informs action
- Action feeds back into better engagement
For those already involved, the value becomes easier to see — and easier to engage with. For those looking in from the outside, the picture becomes clearer too: a platform designed not just to convene, but to accelerate progress in a changing communications world.
An Open Journey
CPaaSAA has never been about a fixed destination. From the beginning, it has been a journey shaped by participation — by people showing up, sharing openly, and helping turn ideas into something that matters.
As the platform enters a phase more focused on impact, that invitation remains open.
For those already part of this movement, now is a good moment to reflect on where you want to engage more deeply: which conversations matter most to you, where you want to contribute, and how this platform can best support your priorities in the year ahead. We continue to listen closely, and that input directly shapes what comes next!
For those looking in from the outside, the direction and momentum are increasingly visible. If this resonates, the next step is simple: join the conversation and see where it leads.
CPaaSAA continues to grow not by standing still, but by moving forward together.
Onwards!
My lifetime in IT and telecoms has been dedicated to innovation, building bridges and creating change. From the early days of cloud communications to working with operators on innovations and business development, and currently emphasizing APIs, CPaaS/CX and AI, my journey has been one of continuous evolution.
As founding partner at CPaaS Acceleration Alliance and The Next Cloud I'm privileged to help global telcos and techcos thrive in a fast changing world - through events, community building, strategy and global business development. I thrive on challenges and change, strategizing in cloud communications, and bringing people together for mutual success. Travel and continuous learning are my passions.
I believe the global communications industry is pivoting to prioritize customer experience and impactful solutions over mere technology and platforms, and we can tackle societal challenges by merging the strengths of corporates and innovators within new ecosystems.
