Promotional banner for BATIC 2026 in Bali announcing CPaaSAA as a community partner, dates August 25–28 in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Every year the industry stops for August, and every year it starts again somewhere. This year it starts in Bali.

BATIC 2026 runs 25–28 August at the Bali International Convention Center in Nusa Dua, and it is the first proper gathering of the international communications industry after the summer break. Eleventh edition, hosted by Telin, more than 2,300 delegates from over 600 companies across 55 countries, under the theme “Uniting Ecosystem to Drive Connected Progress.”

BATIC has also become a genuinely international event rather than a regional one — which is a large part of why we are going, and why a good number of our members will be there too.

A Community Partner for the first time

We are delighted to join BATIC 2026 as an official Community Partner. It is the first time CPaaSAA has been present at this level, and it reflects something we have been saying for a while: too much of the conversation about CPaaS, AI voice and network APIs happens in European and North American rooms and then gets described as a global view. Asia is where a great deal of the traffic, the growth and the most interesting regulatory thinking actually sits. Better to be in the room than to read about it afterwards.

Telin has been a valued partner of the alliance, and this deepens that relationship considerably. We are looking forward to what it opens up for our members on both sides.

Rob Kurver on stage

Our Founding Partner, Rob Kurver, joins the panel Future-Proofing Communications: AI, Immersion and Inclusivity on Wednesday 26 August.

He will also lead a CPaaSAA session on the Expert Spotlight Stage on Thursday, giving a first public look at where our Network API research has landed, together with a read on the state of the market heading into the autumn. It is a taster — the full research goes to members, and lands properly at CASA26 in Amsterdam next month.

Which, if membership has been on your list, makes this a reasonable moment to look at it.

Joining us in Nusa Dua

Two things for members.

CPaaSAA members are entitled to a 15% discount on the published BATIC registration rate, as part of our Community Partner agreement. It applies to registrations from here on — get in touch and we will arrange it.

We are also looking at putting together an informal CPaaSAA get-together while everyone is there. Nothing formal, no agenda, just the people who make this ecosystem work in the same place with a drink in hand. If you are going, let us know, and it will help us size it.

Bali in late August, a few thousand of the sharpest people in the industry, and the first real conversations of the second half of the year. There are worse ways to come back from holiday.

See you there.

I've spent my career in IT and telecoms building bridges, from the early days of cloud communications to today's reset around APIs, CPaaS and AI.

As Founding Partner of The Next Cloud and CPaaSAA, I help telcos, CPaaS players and AI-native scaleups work out where they fit in the AI era, through strategy, ecosystem building and events.

My view: the value is moving from platforms to outcomes, and real innovation comes from ecosystems, not incumbents acting alone.

Based in Amsterdam, usually somewhere else.
